Fachschaft Veterinärmedizin
Universität Bern

Welcome

to the 1st year course and the animal hospital!

Hello dear vet student!

Hello dear vet student!

Congratulations! After passing the numerus clausus, you can finally call yourself a "student of veterinary medicine." Off you go on a 5½ year journey through the animal kingdom, with anatomy, physiology, diseases, therapies, different new people and much more.

Don't worry, except for the occasional dog, cat or very rarely a horse, no one bites here. If you ever need help, just ask! You will meet new people very quickly.
You will see, in no time you will feel at home in this little realm. You'll talk freely about organs, diseases and new experiences in pathology, perhaps even forgetting that your family or flatmates sometimes don't find this very appetizing.
Unfortunately, you will also have to overcome a few obstacles during your journey. You'll have to find perseverance and motivation and work hard to pass the exams. But the best part? The vacations come right after.
The student council and all the other vet students welcome you and wish you lots of luck, courage and joy!
The veterinary hospital, which lives on good humor, respect, undisturbed learning and mutual support, is looking forward to you!
